Other comments you will hear about Vonda Beerman's music... her voice "flows like a ribbon, "As sweet and pure as milk and honey." "Her music gives you a piece of Heaven." "She sings like a bird".
Vonda was born in the town of Lafayette, Indiana in November 1964. A short time later, her family moved to the southeast where she spent the remainder of her childhood years.
The gift that the Lord has given Vonda first became evident during a fifth-grade choir audition. While listening to the group sing, the choir director heard Vonda's clear, sweet voice and asked her to sing solo. Following the session she called Vonda aside to tell her, "The Lord has given you a gift, I've never heard such a beautiful voice in a young child."
During her high-school years, Vonda enjoyed singing with a select group of singers who traveled on weekends to share their love for Christ through music. By God's leading, Vonda emerged as the soloist for their concerts.
Following high school Vonda attended Southern University in Collegedale Tennessee where she met her husband Merlin. Over the years of their marriage they have been blessed with four wonderful children; Nikki, Meranda, Kaylie and Colton. Even in the midst of the challenges of raising her precious family, Vonda has felt the calling of the Holy Spirit to be "a light bearer" by sharing her God- given abilities. Her prayer was, "Lord, I don't know what to do or how to do it, but if You will lead I will follow." Since that prayer, the Lord has consistently and miraculously opened doors for her to witness through her music and she gives God all the glory.
Over the years Vonda has had the honor of sharing her music and testimony in person and by television and radio transmission to a wide variety of audiences throughout the world. These audiences include churches of all denominations, prisons, International ASI Conventions (Adventist-Laymen's Services and Industries), women’s retreats, camp meetings and youth retreats.
